The closed-design footwear will be wet on the inside due to the natural sweating of the human body. External influences such as water, rain, snow or mud can also soak the footwear. However, sweating can make a boot wet even in a completely dry, warm environment.
Wearing wet and COLD footwear is very uncomfortable and can be responsible for the development of many ILLNESSES:
- cystitis
- inflammation of the prostate
- foot and nail fungus,
- extensive infections and inflammation resulting from the illnesses mentioned above.
The moist medium is responsible for the growth of bacteria and fungi which can cause health problems as well as unpleasant ODORs.
Footwear dried and maintained after each use remains in good condition and has a significantly longer lifetime.
It is impossible for wet boots to dry for the next day without using a boot dryer.
Due to the closed design of the footwear, moisture is trapped in them for a long time, even for several days. The warm environment has only minimal effect on the microclimate inside the boots. The most efficient and hygienic way of drying your footwear is to keep pumping dry air into the boots.
The combination of a powerful blower with ambient air dries boots and gear quickly, safely and hygienically.
Hot air boot dryers are designed for quick drying, but they can dehydrate and shrink footwear materials, alter the shape and form of footwear interiors. Custom molded ski boots and hockey skates are especially vulnerable to distortion with hot air boot dryers.
Hot air, bacteria and fungus tend to go hand in hand. A University of Westminster study concluded that hot air can increase bacteria by over 200 percent. Mountain Air Dryers’s ambient temperature air drying system minimizes bacteria and fungi growth, as well as the related odor.
Advantages of ambient air dryers over hot air dryers:
- energy consumption is 20-50 times lower
- lifetime is significantly longer
- possibility of failure is minimal
- environmentally friendly
- spares protects the material of the footwear
- inhibits the growth of pathogens
The main reason of your boots’ unpleasant smell is your perspiring feet. As they sweat and moisture seeps into the boot’s material, bacteria and fungi thrive in the warm, humid conditions. Kill bacteria and fungi by keeping your boots, socks and feet clean and dry. As a result, the smell that comes with it will disappear.
First wash and clean the interior of your boots with antibacterial soup to kill the pathogens. Use boot spray with high alcohol content to disinfect. It is very important to dry your boots after each usage. The longer they stay wet, the more time it allows for bacteria and fungi to multiply.

Our dryers are equipped with highly efficient and energy-saving industrial radial fans. Their power consumption is minimal (30-100 W/h), rivaling with a conventional light bulb. By comparison, a smaller hot air blower consumes 1500-2000 W/h!
The operation cost of our dryers is a maximum of EUR 0.02 per hour calculated at average European electricity prices.
The design and the structure of the dryers allow for many decades of use. There is no need to buy new ones every few years, so no garbage is generated. However, once you should get rid of it, it is not harmful for the environment since it was made from 100% recyclable materials.
We use recycled cardboard for packaging, which can be recycled again. We arrange the delivery ourselves if possible. In that case, we collect the packaging materials and use them again.
Our dryers are maintenance-free.
However, for industrial dryers located next to a production line with more polluted air, periodic inspection, cleaning and maintenance may be required to ensure a long service life.
Our racks are designed and built to serve its owner for decades. Only the electric air blower can fail over time, in that case we will replace it within a short period of time.
The superstructure is a welded steel structure with two layers of powder coated surface protection. It contains no plastic or moving parts, therefore, its failure is practically impossible.
To ensure the proper airflow, we use German brand EBM-Papst industrial radial air blower ventilators in our equipment. The highest quality, reliability, excellent performance and long service life characterize these engines. The manufacturer has designed and built these engines for a minimum life of 40,000 hours, providing more than 56 years of use for a single 2-hour operation each day.
The equipment is controlled by a socket timer that is separate from the rack. Our boot dryers can be shipped to any parts of the world. For this reason, repairing a built-in control unit would be problematic. In case of malfunction we send a new timer on request. However, you can easily obtain a timer that suits your needs from any hardware or online store any time.
